Escondido, CA — Tuesday night, Sept 25, 2024, Rod Howell, candidate for Escondido City Council District 4,  participated in his first candidate forum at the United Methodist Church, where he was joined by fellow candidate Veronica Cigarroa, who is running for City Council District 3. The forum provided both candidates an opportunity to share their platforms and discuss the future of Escondido with the community.

"Homelessness is a community-wide issue that demands immediate action," said Howell. "It’s not just about providing shelter, but addressing the root causes and creating long-term solutions that support our neighbors in need. I am committed to implementing compassionate and effective strategies to tackle this crisis."

Howell also stressed the importance of passing Measure I, which would prevent severe cuts to the city’s budget. “If we do not pass Measure I, our city will face draconian cuts to essential services. It’s crucial that we pass this measure to ensure Escondido has the resources to address issues like public safety, homelessness, and infrastructure improvements,” he explained.

Veronica Cigarroa echoed Howell’s commitment to making Escondido a safer and more vibrant city, and both candidates underscored the urgency of addressing the challenges the city faces.

Rod Howell is eager to continue discussing these vital issues at the next candidate forum on October 3 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. "I look forward to another chance to share my vision for a stronger, safer Escondido and to hear from our community," said Howell.

Howell is proud to be endorsed by the Escondido Democratic Club, which supports his campaign to bring positive change to the city. For more information about the Escondido Democratic Club and to learn more about their endorsement of Rod Howell, visit Escondido Democratic Club.
